DIAMOND HARD

They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the LORD of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the LORD of hosts. —Zechariah 7:12

Hard hearts will not hear the Word of God. They are like the hard-hearted person in Matthew 13:4, 13 that “hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.”

Diamond-hard is so very hard. Examples of softest to hardest (1=softest, 10=hardest): 1- Talc 2- Gypsum 3- Calcite 4- Fluorite 5- Apatite 6- Feldspar 7- Quartz 8- Topaz 9- Corundum 10- Diamond. Diamond hardened hearted people will not hear the Word of God. Their hearts are so hard they will not yield to the Holy Spirit of God. This is so sad, but it is just a matter of fact that there are people like this. We may not know who they are, but the Lord does. Our responsibility is to be witnesses and disciplers to whoever is open to the Word of God. That is the responsibility we have from the Lord God Almighty.

What is so sad is that these diamond hard hearted people are already under the wrath of God (John 3:18, 36). They will fully experience that wrath because of rejecting Jesus (Revelation 20:15). It is so sad, but it is also their choice…

Brother & sister, may we rejoice in the truth that the Lord touched our hearts and we responded to Him. Be faithful until we get home!
