I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. —Philippians 1:22-23
What is your desire? Are you so caught up in this life that you don’t think much of being with Jesus in glory? Or, do you truly desire to be with the Lord Jesus Christ where He is? Is that your desire? https://youtu.be/bo9ZWX1lEKI?t=1025 Oh! To be with Jesus in that perfect place with all who love Him… forever! I want to be where He is!
Well, fellow follower of Jesus if you are reading this then you are not there yet and the Lord Jesus has work for you to do here. That is why you are still here. You have not finished the race that the Author and Finisher of our faith has laid out for you (Hebrews 12:1-2).
The Apostle Paul so desired to be with Jesus just as we should, but he also recognized that it was better for the sake of others that he was to go on living on this earth. So do we understand this. We are living on this earth as the followers of Jesus for the benefit of others. Let us not be in a self-centered world of our making, but rather in an others’ centered world as the Lord Jesus desires. How are you serving others?
Who will be in your world today? Will you seek to serve them, share the gospel with them and love them? Or, will you stay to yourself, hiding your light under a basket? Oh, that we would seek to help others come into relationship with Jesus and encourage those who already know Him. May it be so today!
Dear Father, help me to be a blessing to someone today. Please help me to be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit’s guidance to share Your Son with someone today. May it be so in the authority of Jesus and through Your Holy Spirit’s power. So be it!
