TROUBLES… THEN GLORY!

For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. —II Corinthians 4:17-18

“Our present troubles are small and won’t last very long” —really? Is that how it feels? Troubles seem huge and their duration unending. But these things we seen now are only temporary and “will soon be gone.” That is truly the fact of the matter when we compare what we see now with what we do not see— the eternal things. Let us keep our hearts set on the eternal things as we briefly pass through this life (James 4:14).

These troubles we are experiencing in this life are producing “for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” Now do we understand this fully? No not fully, but the truth about troubles is that they are affecting eternal glory for us. Those troubles we are now experiences are not for naught! Dear Father, thank You for the hope and expectation of Heaven to be with Jesus and all who love Him. Thank You that these troubles will be forever behind me one day. Yes, I want to be where He is. Even so come Lord Jesus!
