SAFE ON THE ROCK!
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” —Romans 9:33
Jesus is a Rock, my Rock. He causes many to stumble (I Corinthians 1:23; 10:1-12). Those who truly trust “Him will never be put to shame” (Romans 10:11). No, the person who sincerely trusts in the Lord Jesus is a wise man who will stand in and after the storms of life (Matthew 7:24-27). Those who do not build on the Rock will be destroyed— “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Have you trusted Jesus? If you have then nothing can separate you from Him… nothing (Romans 8:38-39). The chorus of the hymn “The Solid Rock” says “On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand.” Jesus is the only Solid Rock that will never be moved and we are safely secured in Him. Rejoice!
Dear Father, thank You for the Rock, Your Son. I am grateful to know I am safe and secure in Him. May I encourage others to stand on this Rock as well. Lead me to those You desire me to invite to the Rock. May this be so in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of the Rock, Jesus.
