JESUS— CREATOR AND SUSTAINER OF ALL

The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!” At that point they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden from them and left the Temple. —John 8:57-59
Again the Jews wanted to kill Jesus because of what He claimed. He had just said He existed before Abraham. The Jews understood what He was saying and wanted to kill Him for it. Jesus is the Creator and Sustainer of all life. “His is before all things.” (John 1:1; Colossians 1:17).

Jesus existed before Abraham. Jesus is the Creator of all and holds all things together in all of creation. Surely He is big enough to handle your life. “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:27). So what is it today that seems uncontrollable? Bring it to the One who existed before Abraham. Dear Father, I am grateful to know Jesus and to know that He has authority over all things in Heaven and on Earth. My life is safe with Him and I will trust Him.
