MY REFUGE
May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” —Ruth 2:12
You have heard about the fire that consumed a barn and the farmer who had walk through the rubble afterwards. He saw a dead hen and moved it with his foot. To his utter surprise there were live chicks underneath her. She had spread her wings over her chicks to protect them from the fire and they had accepted the refuge she offered. They were saved through her sacrifice.
The Lord God Almighty is a refuge for all who have called on His Name to follow Him. He sacrificed Himself for us and He is our Protector. We need not fear. What is the worst man can do to us? Kill us and send us to heaven? That’s not so bad if it comes down to that. They would just be sending us home to be with Jesus!
Not only is the Lord God our refuge, but He also seeks to reward us for how we serve Him (I Corinthians 3:14; Hebrews 11:6). Isn’t it amazing how He considers us? Rejoice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBcqria2wmg&nohtml5=False
Dear Father, thank You for considering me, for being my Protector, my refuge. Thank You that I am forever safe in You by the authority of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
