CLING TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY

Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you. —Deuteronomy 4:2

So be careful to obey all the commands I give you. You must not add anything to them or subtract anything from them. —Deuteronomy 12:32

Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar. —Proverbs 30:6

And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book. —Revelation 22:18-19

That we would not give our own ideas and opinions, but stick to His. “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions” (Deuteronomy 29:29). Yes, may we be faithful to His Word as we convey to others what He has to say. May we not add to what He has to say or take away from what He has to say.

Dear Father, please help me not to stray from Your Word, but to hold fast to Your Word. May it be so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
