BUILT THINGS HAD A BUILDER
For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God. —Hebrews 3:4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMrpeNaNh84 Now after watching this video someone comes along and tells you that this house just appeared or that it built itself and adapted to its surroundings over a very long period of time. You tell them adamantly that there were a bunch of contractors that built it over a very short period of time, but the person you are talking with stands his ground and continues to tell you that this house just evolved out of nothing. Yeh, that person would have a problem.
Yet we are clearly told that “the one who built everything is God.” He is the Creator of all things that are not sinful. Satan and man are responsible for sinful things as they have rebelled against God. But understanding that God is the Creator can only be known by faith which “is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1). So that is why it is only “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen” (Hebrews 11:6). We read in Romans 10:17 that “Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.”
This message about God being the Almighty Creator and being the One who sent His Son to the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, to take the punishment for our sin “is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (I Corinthians 1:18). It is by faith that we understand these things and faith is never blind. Faith has evidence in the things that are created, in the Son God sent, in the Holy Spirit that He gave believers and by the Word He revealed to us.
So, what do you think about Jesus? If you think what He did at the cross is foolishness then you are in danger of perishing forever in Hell, the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15). For those being saved they understand “the power of God.” You and I will bow the knee and acknowledge Jesus as Lord. May we do so in this life as our Savior and not after death as Judge!
Dear Father, it is a marvel to understand that You are the Creator of all along with Your Son and the Holy Spirit. May I proclaim this in this dark world when it ever seeks to deny the truth.
