For nothing will be impossible with God. —Luke 1:37

If nothing was impossible for you, what would you do?

But, we are very limited when compared to the Lord God Almighty. Mankind can accomplish much and has. Much has been for good and unfortunately much that has also been created to be used for evil. It all comes down to the motivation of man. Still, when man creates something he has to have the raw materials to do so. Man has never been able to create something from nothing… and he never will. Even when man creates something he is showing that the something needs a creator to be created. It just does not happen by itself. How foolish man is to look around and believe that all the living and non-living things around us just evolved from nothing. What a lie this is that many have believed.

Only God can create something from nothing (Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26). All He did was speak and everything came into existence. We can only imagine doing so. God alone can do what is impossible for us to do. Many people have a hard time believing in such an all-powerful Being because they can get beyond what man can do and think of God in those terms and ideas. God is way beyond us in all ways and the pride of many people does not want to accept that.

Can man speak light into existence? Of course not, but God has given the ability to man to create light from sources that already exist. Can man speak an atmosphere into existence? No, but he can develop miniature ones from what already exists. Can man speak the separation of water from land into existence? No, but he can create dams and levees from what already exists. Can man speak vegetation or animals into existence? No, but man can create hybrids from what already exists. Can man speak another person into existence? No, but man has been given the ability to create another person by what already exists in the male and female relationship.

What is impossible for man is not impossible for God. Look to the heavens because they declare the glory of God and speak to us of His existence (Psalm 19:6) and only a fool would say “there is no God” (Psalm 14) because the fool suppresses “the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:18-20).
Things may be impossible for you, but they are not for God. He will do whatever He desires and no mere man can stay His hand. So, whatever God desires to do in and through your life is not impossible— “can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). Trust Him fully!

Dear Father, it is comforting to know that You are ultimately in control and that nothing on this planet or in all creation escapes Your notice. You are intimately aware of all things and this completely astounds me, but why should it not? After all, You are the God that makes the impossible possible and I am a mere man that can only live out the impossible as You make it possible. Oh, that I would yield to Your desires in my life in Jesus authority and by the power of the Holy Spirit. May it be so!
