ENJOY!

A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?” “All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” —Isaiah 39:6-8

He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. —Isaiah 40:23-24

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. —Isaiah 40: 23-31

I love this time of year. It is warmer, everything is so lush and green and the flowers are wonderful. Unfortunately, flowers in New Hampshire do not last very long. The summers are so short, but this year I am seeking to enjoy every moment outside with thankfulness to the Lord God Almighty for this creation of His He made for us to enjoy. As creative as man is, which is given by the Lord, he cannot make a flower. Oh, he can be creative in making variations, but He cannot even make it grow. God alone does that.

These passages above remind us how quickly life passes by; that the Lord enables the world’s leaders to be in power and decides when they will no longer be so. They remind us that it is the Lord who gives strength and power. Those who trust in Him will be renewed in their strength.

So, enjoy life! “Smell the roses.” Get out and enjoy God’s grand creation. It is just a taste of heaven, but is a glorious taste! Do not fret over the world’s leaders and what is happening. God is ultimately in control and He is working out His plan. Rulers are only ruling because the Lord allows them to for His purposes. They only rule for a short time. None can tire the Lord out. He does not get tired or grow weary and His understanding cannot be fathomed by us. Feeling tired? Hope in the Lord and He will renew your strength.

Yes, leaders and we people on this planet are not here very long. May we seek to honor the Lord Jesus while we are here. Oh, that we would keep our eyes fixed on Him (Hebrews 12:2), love Him, love people and serve Him however He desires. Life is short… let us be faithful while we are here.

Dear Father, may I honor You in the Lord Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Oh, that this would be my daily desire until I breathe my last breath. So be it!
