GOD’S JUSTICE WILL BE CARRIED OUT

GOD’S JUSTICE WILL BE CARRIED OUT

And as soon as Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab arose to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone to take possession. And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Have you killed and also taken possession?” ’And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD: “In the place where dogs licked up the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your own blood.” ’ ”  Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the LORD. —I Kings 21:16-20

“And also concerning Jezebel the Lord says: ‘Dogs will devour Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.’ —I Kings 21:23

But a certain man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded.” —I Kings 22:34

There are people on this planet that carry out wicked acts. Many in power are like this. In the above passages King Ahab and his wife, Queen Jezebel, plot to take by force the vineyard Naboth owned. Ahab coveted it. He tried to buy it off Naboth, but it was not for sale. Naboth would keep what belonged in his family. After being denied the ability to buy the vineyard, Ahab lay on his bed and pouted. His wife said, “Are you not the king of Israel?” Then she devised a plan to get the vineyard.

She had the leaders bring Naboth before them and have worthless men come as witness against Naboth saying that he had blasphemed God. This happened and they stoned Naboth to death. Naboth was a righteous man and wicked men killed him.   As soon as the king knew of Naboth’s death he went to take possession of Naboth’s vineyard. But God knows all things. Nothing… nothing escapes His notice.

God sent His prophet, Elijah, to Ahab and said, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”   Then Elijah went on to tell of the consequences. Both Ahab and Jezebel would have “untimely, violent deaths” because of what they had done.   And that is what happened. Ahab was fatally wounded by a random arrow shot (of course God guided that arrow) and died. Jezebel was thrown out of an upper floor and she died. Dogs licked the blood of both of them as was foretod.   God’s justice was done.

So it will be with people who do wicked injustices against others. God will have the final say either in this life or after death or both. Justice here in this life may be in an untimely death or something else. Justice after death will be hell forever… Brother and sister, let us trust God and not take things into our own hands because He said, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord” (Romans 12:9; Deuteronomy 32:35;Hebrews 10:30).  Let us faithfully run the race marked out for us and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2).   He will bring justice in due time.

I am so glad dear Father that You know all things. Nothing escapes Your notice. May I never seek vengeance, but allow justice to rest in Your hands. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of my King Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyUnpjd3TPU
