LIVE FAITHFULLY AMONG THE FOOLISH

LIVE FAITHFULLY AMONG THE FOOLISH

Claiming to be wise, they became fools. —Romans 1:22

College and University professors, scientists, doctors, psychiatrists, plumbers, electricians, politicians, the homeless or anyone else that thinks it is wise not to honor God, give thanks to God or suppress the truth about God are fools.  This is what God says about them!  It does not matter where they fall in the intelligence scale or the social-economic scale.  If they do not want to acknowledge Him then He will “give them up” their own wicked ways (Romans 1:24, 26 28).  That is a horrible place for people to be.

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’  They are corrupt; their acts are vile.  There is no one who does good.  The LORD looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if any understand, if any seek God.  All have turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Will the workers of iniquity never learn?” (Psalm 14:1-4).

When people do not want to acknowledge God they have to fill the vacuum with something.  Instead of worshipping God they will corruptly focus on created things, themselves and others.  They will seek to be the gods of their own lives and instead of living for righteousness they will live for wickedness.  Not only will they live for wicked things but they “also approve of those who practice them” (Romans 1:32).  Satan hold them captive to do his will (II Timothy 2:26).

Today there is only one hope for mankind and “we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good” (Titus 2:13-14).  While we wait, brothers and sisters, let us live faithfully in this corrupt world— “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’  Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life” (Philippians 2:14-16).  Shine for His glory and honor!

Yes, Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  So be it!
