NONE LIKE YOU!

NONE LIKE YOU!

Who among the gods is like You, O LORD?  Who is like You—majestic in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders? —Exodus 15:11

“Who among the gods is like You, O LORD?”  The answer is “there is none like You!”  “Who is like You— majestic in holiness?”  Again, the answer is that there is none like You that are “majestic in holiness.”  Who is like You to be “revered with praises?”  For the third time— there is none like You to be “revered with praises.”  Who is like You “performing wonders?”  Repeat with me— there is none like You “performing wonders!”

For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”  From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.  “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.  Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” —John 6:64-69

Who else has the “words of eternal life?”  There is no one else to go to for eternal life.  Jesus is the only way (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).  Peter understood this when he said to Jesus, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”  Yes, Peter understood there was no one else that could perform the “wonder” of giving eternal life.

Even the Jewish leaders knew that only God could perform the “wonder” of forgiving sin.  The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Luke 5:21).  They just did not believe that “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us” (John 1:14) and that “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known” (John 1:18).

There is none like You who can say “I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin” (Proverbs 20:9).  Only Jesus was “tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 4:15).  Peter understood the sinfulness of man when he asked Jesus, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” (Matthew 18:21).  Jesus then told the parable of the wicked servant who was not willing to forgive a minor offense when he had been forgiven an unpayable offense and He was angry with that wicked servant.  Then Jesus said, “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart” (Matthew 18:35).

Praise God for His awesome wonders and thank Him for His wonders and holiness.  Thank Him for forgiveness even when there are those who don’t forgive or don’t think they need to be forgiven (Matthew 6:14-15). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPtSTpAba4w

Dear Father, truly, there is none like You.  May I praise and thank You now and forever for Your AWESOMENESS!  May I do so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
