GOD IS TO BE LOVINGLY OBEYED

GOD IS TO BE LOVINGLY OBEYED

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” —Exodus 3:14

Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?”  “Truly, truly, I tell you,” Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!”  At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple area. —John 8:57-59

God is self-existent and does not need anything or anyone.  He was, He is and He will always be.  He is Lord, Master, King, Priest, Prophet, Servant, Savior…  When He speaks we are to listen and obey! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzqTFNfeDnE

God sent Moses on a mission.  Moses hemmed and hawed— he did not want to go— Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else” (Exodus 4:13).  He made all kinds of excuses not to be obedient and go as the Lord was directing.  Moses had said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue” (Exodus 4:10).

Do we do the same thing?  We know what God wants us to do, but we make all kinds of excuses not to do as He desires.  Instead of obedience we desire that He sends someone else.  But He wants you to obey!  He wants you to do His will.  He wants you to be blessed.  He wants to work in and through you.  He wants to bless you.  He wants to bless others through you.  He wants you to represent Him!

Moses saw the burning bush and God spoke to Him there, commanding him to go on a mission for Him.  Jesus has done the same thing (Matthew 28:19-20).  Will we be obedient to Him?  We say we love Him.  Well Jesus said, “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them” (John 14:21).  Do we really love Him? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUy3yaSd9b0

Dear Father may my love for You be evident to those around me and may Your love draw many others to Jesus.  Be please to work in and through me in such a way that others will be encouraged toward You and that many would trust You.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  So be it!
