REDEEMED TO AN ETERNAL INHERITANCE

REDEEMED TO AN ETERNAL INHERITANCE!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. —I Peter 1:3-6

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. —I Peter 1:17-21

Fellow follower of Jesus, God has given us new birth through the resurrection of Jesus. Now we have “an inheritance that can never perish.” We are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus! (Romans 8:17). This inheritance “is kept in heaven for you.” Wow… our inheritance is waiting for us in Heaven. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHFPJfwa3Z0

There is a very interesting revelation in Psalm 49:7-9 — “No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay.” This is an amazing statement! No man can redeem the life of another. No man can ever have enough payment to redeem another. No payment is ever enough. Get that? No payment is EVER enough! If your family was willing to lay down their lives for you… it would not be enough to redeem you from sin. If the population of your whole town or city was willing to lay down their lives to redeem you from sin… it would not be enough. If the population of your whole nation was willing to lay down their lives to redeem you from sin… it would not be enough. Even if the 7.3 billion people of the world were willing to lay down their lives for you, to be a sacrifice for you, that would not be enough to redeem you from the market place of sin. If all of creation, all we see and do not see, was willing to give of itself to redeem you… it would not be enough. Nothing in all creation can redeem you from sin…nothing!

Into Creation steps Jesus! The Eternal Son of God is the only One who could redeem us because 1- He is Eternal and 2- He is perfect. Jesus redeemed us not with temporary perishable things, but with His own blood shed on the cross and then He proved Himself to be the Son of God by the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4). He has the power of sin and death and He is the only One of that Nature! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QvX4CwSmwY

Listen! Nothing in all Creation could redeem you and nothing in “all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing can separate us! NOTHING! Rejoice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5L6QlAH3L4

Dear Father, I am astounded at all You have done for me. I am grateful for Your mercy and grace and look so forward to being in that perfect place with Jesus and all who love Him. Until then may I seek to live faithfully according to Your will. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
