“He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” —II Chronicles 5:13
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19).
The more we understand of God’s love for us the more we will understand how good He is and that He always has our good in mind (Romans 8:28). We would not even love Him until we first understood that He loved us (I John 4:10, 19). Now He expects us to love others as He has loved us (John 13:34-35; I John 4:7-8, 11-12, 20-21). Those who love as Jesus did bear evidence that they truly know Him.
How will you and I express love to others today? Will I do so in the workplace? At school? In the neighborhood? While I am driving? In my speech and actions? What will loving others as Jesus did look like in my life today? Oh, that I would be and do as Jesus desires!
Dear Father, may I love others today like Jesus does. May I do so in His authority and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Yes, may this be so!
