GOD IS ALWAYS GOOD AND LOVING —MAN IS NOT!
“For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” —II Chronicles 7:3, 6
God is always good. He gave Adam and Eve the opportunity to choose His loving goodness or to choose the way of Satan. They failed miserably. Now people ask why God made Adam and Eve that way— to have the opportunity to make the choice. They ask this because they want to blame God for all the evil in the world. The fact of the matter is God gave them the choice because He wants people to love Him freely and not be like robots. The same is true today. You have a choice as I do. Will I make the choice to love God and live for Him or will I make the choice to do what I want to do as Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden? Do I love God and His ways or do I love self and Satan’s ways? Those are the only two choices and they both have destinies. To love God and live for Him brings eternal life. To love self and live under Satan’s desires brings judgment and hell. Those are the choices… whether you accept them or not. You will die one day. Death occurs because of sin entering the world. After death you will pay the penalty of that sin because you did not accept the precious Son of God, Jesus, who died to forgive your sin. This is the most wonderful gift anyone could ever receive. If you have not done so yet, I hope you will turn to Jesus. He is always good and His love never fails.
Yes, God is not only good, but He is also eternally loving. Being a God of love does not mean He is not a God of justice. No, because He is a God of love He is also a God of justice. It is not a loving parent who allows their child to do whatever he pleases. No, a loving parent puts down boundaries and when those boundaries are crossed a loving parent carries out “justice” because of their love for their child. Today many parents think they are loving their child when they do not have boundaries or penalties for disobedience. God is not like a permissive parent. He is always good and always does the right thing.
Other examples of the world’s lack of love— It is a lack of love to not enforce the just laws of our land. To not have secure borders encourages drug smuggling, human trafficking including sex trafficking of young children. Did you hear about the 9 year old girl that was rescued from drug smugglers? She barely had a voice from her screaming as she was raped multiple times by these evil doers. Is that love? I think not and how many times is that being repeated? Wanting to defund or destroy our police forces is not love, nor is wanting to empty our prisons. The culture we live is far from perfect, but to desire and allow these actions is not loving. Not enforcing the law or keeping boundaries is not loving… no, it encourages more lawlessness (Ecclesiastes 8:11). It does not encourage goodness or love! It is a perversion!
Fact of the matter— God is good and His steadfast love endures forever. Man is evil and can make the choice to stay in that condition or call on Jesus and follow God’s ways. What will you do?
