GRUMBLING IS AGAINST OUR LORD!
GRUMBLING IS AGAINST OUR LORD!
Your grumbling is not against us but against the LORD. —Exodus 16:8
When we are irritated, upset, complaining or grumbling— Who is this grumbling really against? Is our grumbling really against or about the circumstance or situation? Is our grumbling really against or about a person or group of people? Is not our grumbling really against the Sovereign of all things and of all people? Is not our grumbling truly against our Lord God Almighty, our Savior? Is He not ultimately in control of all things and people, circumstances and situations? “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28) — Do we truly believe this well known verse? Is so, they why do we get irritated, upset, complain or grumble? It is because we want to be in control and have things go according to our plans and purposes. It is because we want people to act according to our desires. We get irritated, upset, complain or grumble because life is not happening according to the script we want to write.
Grumbling about a person, people or situation? Who is ultimately in control? Who is it that you are really grumbling against? This is a sobering thought and we may want to assess our attitude and motivation, our love for our Lord and our love for people. We may want to seek to learn the lessons our Lord is teaching us in the circumstance or situation!
Yes, Dear Father may we truly take a look at ourselves and instead of grumbling seek to have the peace that only you can give in difficult circumstances. May we learn the lessons You want us to learn instead of grumbling. Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-816LEY-F9U
