DON’T KEEP SILENT IN SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
DON’T KEEP SILENT IN SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” —Esther 4:14

God can work through you and through. He desires to do so! But if we keep silent, if we do not do His will then He will do so through someone else. But… God has you and me living at this time in history and in the location we are at for specific purposes. We are to honor and glorify Him by living out those purposes where we are at any given time. Are you? Am I?
What are some of the things He has called us into His kingdom for? Surely we are to worship Him— “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). Does He have this place in your life and mine? Are there other things and people that are taking the place that He ought to have? May that not be so.
We are also to love people— “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). How are you and I involved in a loving way toward other people? The greatest command is to love God, but He says that the second command, to love people, is like the first. Are we loving people as He desires us to?
We are to be witnesses and disciple-makers as Jesus commanded us (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:16-20). How are you and I serving Him in this area? Are we obeying Him? These are not given to us by Jesus as optional features of our walk with Him. No, this is to be our walk with Him!
Again, if you are not faithful in these areas He will work through someone else. But let us be clear in the sovereignty of God— You are living for a time such as this. He has placed you in this time to love Him, honor Him, glorify Him and to be faithful to Him. May you and I do so! Yes, dear Father and may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So be it!
