THE FOOL

THE FOOL

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. —Psalm 53:1

This is what God says about those who say, “There is no God.” God says they are fools. Why?   A fool is one who has been tricked, duped, conned and deceived. They have been led astray and need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”   The fool “must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth” (II Timothy 2:25-26).

The trouble is many a fool thinks they are “good.” God’s Word is clear and states there are none who are “good.”   Man has a way of defining “good.”   Man says, “I am a good person.”   But how do they come to that conclusion?   What are they using for a measurement?   They are usually thinking in terms of not being as bad as someone else. But that does not make them “good.”

God’s standard is perfection and not just “good.” Jesus said that “There is only One who is good” and that is God Himself (Matthew 19:17). He is the standard to measure up to and none of us do. We all fall far short of His expectations (Romans 3:10-24).   It is God who has to do the work to save us— “No man can possibly redeem his brother or pay his ransom to God. For the redemption of his soul is costly, and never can payment suffice, that he should live on forever and not see decay… But God will redeem my life from Sheol, for He will surely take me to Himself” (Psalm 49:7-9, 15). No one is good enough and that is why you must know “that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot. He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for your sake.   Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him; and so your faith and hope are in God” (I Peter 1:18-21). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6 The fool will not accept this because of Satan’s deception.

Again, there are none who are good… only God alone is good and you need to meet His standard— Here’s the test to see if you meet His standard… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk

Dear Father I thank You that Jesus makes me acceptable.   I know surely that I am not good enough, but I am glad He has taken the penalty and punishment for my sin. Now out of gratitude may I faithfully live for You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yBzIt_z8oY
