LIFE BY OUR LORD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS

LIFE BY OUR LORD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS

And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The LORD is our righteousness.’ — Jeremiah 33:16

The Lord is our righteousness. We have none of our own. It is all His doing. He is the One who makes us righteous. We cannot make ourselves righteous. This is true before we called upon His Name for salvation and this is true after we call on His Name for salvation. He gives us His righteousness at salvation and He keeps us righteous after salvation.   It is all His doing and not our own.   We simply receive His righteousness as a gift at salvation and forevermore. Praise the Lord for this glorious gift!

“What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are those

whose transgressions are forgiven,

whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the one

whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness. Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before! And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.” —Romans 4:3-11

Wow… he will never hold our sin against us. We were righteously bankrupt and He have us His righteousness that we could be eternally with Him. Let us grab a hold of that truth and live lives that are pleasing in His sight out of great gratitude. Yes, Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!   That is my desire! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkNCOmfq5nI   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxpPIa-BskY
