FATHER’S FIRST PRIORITY— ABIDE IN OUR LORD!

 I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” —Psalms 16:2

             A father that has this statement for their own will be a father that has an understanding about themselves and others. Dad, do you truly understand this? Do you truly know that apart from the Lord you and I have no good thing?   If we are going to pass on to our children, grandchildren and others that which is truly good we need to not only have a relationship with our Lord, but we truly need to be listening to Him.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. —James 1:17

             If we truly understand this then we will seek to abide in our Lord Jesus because Jesus said,

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” —John 15:5

We need dads today and everyone else to understand this statement— “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” Do you truly understand this? Are you living like this? What is in your life that is not good, but you have allowed? Let set aside those things and focus on the good that only comes from knowing our Lord God Almighty. Yes, let this be so.

Dear Father may I be a dad that loves You above all else and live that way. Oh, help me to be and do what is good in Your sight that I can pass on that which is good to my children and grandchildren and if you allow me to live long enough… to my great grandchildren.
