OUR LORD GOD IS WITH US!

OUR LORD GOD IS WITH US!

With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles. —II Chronicles 32:8

In the verse above Hezekiah is being threatened to be destroyed by the Assyrian horde coming against and invading Judah. Here is what Hezekiah said— “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And so it is with us who follow our Lord Jesus Christ— “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (I John 4:4).

Do not fear, be anxious or wonder brother and sister because the One who has called you is with you. He said— “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you,” (Hebrews 13:5) and He also said that “surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Do you believe God’s Word is the final authority for us to live accordingly?   Then whatever He says to you and I is to be obeyed. Do not let disobedience rob you of the blessings and joy of serving Him according to His Word.

So what is it that you are not presently being obedient in that you know our Lord desires of you? He is with you. Trust Him!   What He desires you to be and do He will give the ability for you to be and do. Because “it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13). He will “equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:21). So trust Him as Hezekiah did when the Assyrian horde was coming against him.   We surely can also trust Him in this spiritual warfare we are in! May you and I do so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOkImV2cJDg

Dear Father I am so grateful that You are always with me. I am grateful for Your Holy Spirit enabling me to be and do what You desire.   Oh that I may be more faithful in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
