SAVED ONLY BY GOD’S GRACE!
SAVED ONLY BY GOD’S GRACE!
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. —Ephesians 2:9-10
GOD’S
RICHES
AT
Christ’s
Expense
Our salvation is only by God’s grace. It was nothing of our doing… nothing! “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44). Salvation is purely a “gift of God.” You did not earn His salvation. You could not earn His salvation. No work you could have done would have been ever enough to earn your salvation. There is nothing you can boast about in being saved by God except to “boast in the Lord” (Jeremiah 9:23-24; I Corinthians 1:31; II Corinthians 10:17; Galatians 6:14). Yes, let us boast in our Lord Jesus alone!
By God’s grace we were “created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” What is the “work” God has for me and am I faithfully doing the work He has for me? This was work that He has prepared for me to do! Oh may I be faithful with the riches that He has given to me at His expense! Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. Yes, may this be so— that I be faithful!
