THOSE WHO ARE OF FAITH
THOSE WHO ARE OF FAITH
Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”? Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. —Galatians 3:6-9
He (Christ) redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. —Galatians 3:14
Here’s what we learn from this context:
- Abraham believed God
- That belief was counted to him as righteousness
- Those of faith are the sons of Abraham
- We are justified by faith
- The gospel was preached beforehand to Abraham
- The gospel— “In Abraham all the nations would be blessed”
- Those of faith are blessed along with Abraham
- Abraham was a man of faith
- Christ redeemed us
- The promise blessing to Abraham comes through Jesus
- By faith we receive the Spirit
Belief— righteousness— faith— justified— gospel preached— blessed— redeemed— through Jesus— receive the Spirit…
We who have believed are of a nation among nations that have been blessed. The gospel of our Lord Jesus has come to us—
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born. —I Corinthians 15:1-8
Brother and sister let us praise God for the wonderful things our Lord has done for us. We are most fortunate and let us live a life of gratitude toward Him.
Dear Father I am so grateful for all that You have done for me through Jesus. Oh, that I would know you more and more and share You with others more and more. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oad8ov10AjY
