OFFER HIM YOUR BEST!

When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the LORD of hosts. —Malachi 1:8

            Would what I present to our Lord in time, treasure and talent be acceptable to our governor if I presented the same to him?  Would the governor’s favor be upon me because of what I offered to him?  Now there are a couple questions to think about.

            Does my Lord get the best time or the left over time?  Does my Lord get the purposeful and planned first of my treasure or something that is left over without much thought?  Does my Lord get prime time for my talent or am I too busy using those talents in other places?  Hmmm… questions for me… and you… to ponder.

            In Malachi’s day the people were offering not the best of what they had to our Lord.  No, they were offering Him their worst and what they did not want.  It would not have even been accepted by their governor nor would their governor’s favor have been shown toward them.

            Can you imagine someone bringing you a ripped up, full of holes, stained and stinky set of clothes for your birthday present?  I wonder how our Lord views what you and I are offering to Him.  May we be offering Him the best for His glory!
