ENJOY LIFE WITH YOUR WIFE!

Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun. —Ecclesiastes 9:9

            Enjoy life with your wife!  Yes, this is what we are to be doing who are married.  Life may be uncertain.  It is like smoke that can be seen, but cannot be held, cannot be controlled and fades quickly.  We do not know what tomorrow will bring— “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14).  This verse in James carries the same meaning as “vain” in the passage above from Ecclesiastes— vapor.  We are to enjoy life with our wife all the days of our “uncertain” life which has been given to us.  This is a gift from God.

            Think about much what we toil or work for— it is to provide for our home to live in together and to enjoy together.  We are to rejoice with the wife of our youth (Proverbs 5:18) and to live in consideration of our wives and treat them with respect (I Peter 3:7).  “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD” (Proverbs 18:22).  How fortunate we are to have a godly wife to live life and enjoy life together.  Rejoice together!

Dear Father I thank You for my wife You have given me.  May I be faithful to her and in all that means.  May we enjoy the gift of life together that You have given us and rejoice in the eternal life that You have given us.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  So be it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SliUHqvtGis
