EVIDENCE ABOUNDS FOR GOD

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. —Psalm 19:1

People who deny that God is Creator is calling Him a liar and will not accept the testimony of His hands— the very creation itself. We look up during the day and ponder the Sun, clouds and moon with its pill-white appearance. We ponder the moon and stars at night. These are a clear declarations of God’s glory and of His handiwork. And people still say “There is no God.”

The heavens and sky “speak” each and every day. The heavens and sky “proclaim the work of his hands.” There is so much evidence for the existence of God that a person would have to be blind not to see His proclamation in the heavens and sky (v1). That is the problem —“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (II Corinthians 4:4).

Every single day the heavens and sky speak profusely and every night they reveal knowledge. People should easily accept that God is the designer by the tremendous evidence above them all the time (v.2). There is not a language group on earth that does not have the evidence above them to know God exists (v.3-4; Romans 1:18-20).

Here is the problem of man— “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles (Romans 1:21-23).

Romans 1:18-32 clearly states the downward thinking and actions of man when they do not want to acknowledge God. Man without God only becomes more vile in words and actions and all the while “they claimed to be wise, they became fools (v.22). God says that ‘The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good” (Psalm 14:1). Without the light of God’s Truth the world indeed becomes a very dark place.

Praise God that He has opened your eyes and mine to know that He is and that He is the Creator and that He sent His Son, Jesus. This is only possible because “God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6). Now may we share with others that “God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:25-26). Yes, may we do so!
