VICTORY!
VICTORY!
But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone… Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. —Hebrews 1:9, 14-15
Think about that! Jesus tasted “death for everyone.” He broke the power of Satan who held us in slavery to fear of death. For those of us who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ there is no longer any reason to fear death. We are set free by the Truth (John 8:31-32). We have come to our senses and have escaped the snare of Satan who was holding us captive to do his will (II Timothy 2:26).
Marvel of marvels that our Creator would rescue us from the sin, death and eternal damnation that we brought on ourselves. He did this because of His great love for us (Ephesians 2:4). Amazingly He became “the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2). Think about His great love for you and me. He tasted death for each person who had ever lived— past, present and future! And… He also took the punishment and penalty for every sin and sinner— past, present and future!
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (I John 3:2). Don’t forget who you are, Whose you are and live a life that is pleasing to Him (Romans 12:1; II Corinthians 5:9; Colossians 1:10; Hebrews 11:6; 12:26; I John 3:22). May it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTi3RJOVj2M
Dear Father, I am astounded and overwhelmed at Your love toward me and You did this while I was a sinner, an enemy of Yours. Oh, may I truly be the person that truly pleases You and be about Your work that pleases You as well. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
