JESUS’ VIEW OF SIN
JESUS’ VIEW OF SIN
“But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck.” —Mark 9:42
Woe to those who tempt the followers of Jesus to fall into sin. There is so much in this world that seeks to encourage those who trust in Jesus to sin. As His followers we need to be on guard at all times.
The godless and wicked people of this world seek to suppress the truth by their wickedness (Romans 1:18). Fellow followers of Jesus, we need to be clinging to and proclaiming the Word of God. This fallen world will continue to “invent ways of doing evil” (Romans 1:30). Not only are their minds darkened and depraved (Romans 1:21, 28) to give themselves over to all kinds of sexual depravity (Romans 1:24-27), but they “also approve of those who practice them” (Romans 1:32). https://www.facebook.com/ACallToReform/videos/1332680523449327/
Fellow follower of Jesus, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (I Peter 5:8). “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11). This is not a time to be fearful— “The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1). No, “those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Be faithful to “run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2). The day is coming when spiritual warfare will be over and everything will be made new (Revelation 21:5) Let us run the race in the midst of this sinful world. Nobody is getting away with anything. Every knee will bow one day to King Jesus (Romans 14:11). Believers will give an account to Him (II Corinthians 5:10) and those who do not know Jesus will be judged (Revelation 20:15). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYbX-3_a98U He sees the evil that is taking place and He will deal with it according to His plans and purposes. Be faithful…
Dear Father, please help me to cling to Jesus and be about His will. Please keep me from the sinful ways of the world and live a holy life for You. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
