NONE RIGHTEOUS… NOT EVEN ONE!

The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them. —Ezekiel 18:20

So, do you have any righteousness that comes from you?  Do I have any righteousness that comes from me?  Can anyone claim righteousness that comes from themselves?  God says this about that—

“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.  Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.  The poison of vipers is on their lips.  Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.  Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.  There is no fear of God before their eyes.” —Romans 3:10-18

Truly, what Isaiah 53:6 says is totally accurate— “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”  Yes, Jesus came to deliver us from our wicked sinfulness— “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2).  The way has been open and now “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).  How is this possible?

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” —Romans 4:20-25

So, the righteousness of the righteous comes through the righteousness that God credits to them when they “believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”  Let us encourage people with this awesome good news about Jesus which affects our lives now and forever.  Yes, let us share this good news with whoever we can.  May it be so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be all for Your honor and glory! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxpPIa-BskY&list=RDoxpPIa-BskY&start_radio=1
