BEWARE OF SPEAKING AGAINST OUR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
This is what the Lord says— the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands? It is I who made the earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts. —Isaiah 45:11-12
For this is what the Lord says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be habited— he says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other”. —Isaiah 45:18
Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. —Isaiah 45:22
You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’ —Isaiah 47:10
This is what our Lord God Almighty says—
- Do you question me?
- Do you give me orders about the work of my hands?
- Did I not make the earth?
- Did I not create mankind on it?
- Did I not stretch out the heavens?
- Did I not marshal the starry hosts?
- Did I not fashion the earth?
- Did I create it to be empty?
- Did I not form it to be inhabited?
- Do I know of any other Lord God Almighty?
- Do I not want people to turn to me?
This is our Lord God Almighty that we have put our trust in, but there are those who “have trusted in your wickedness and have said, ‘No one sees me.’ Their “wisdom and knowledge mislead” them. It is true that “in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him” (I Corinthians 1:21). The world is blinded by Satan (II Corinthians 4:4) and those in the world need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” They need to “be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth” (II Timothy 2:26).
