BE A BLESSING!
He passed away, to no one’s regret… —II Chronicles 21:20
The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them. —Proverbs 20:7
These words are so sad— “He passed away, to no one’s regret.” No one cared that he had died. Jehoram was a wicked, evil king that influenced many into darkness and away from our Lord. When he died, nobody regretted it. Nobody cared. What a sad commentary about a life lived apart from our Lord.
On the other hand, “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.” Parents who live faithfully for our Lord have children that are blessed. Children, whether they realized it or not, are so fortunate to have parents who seek to live for our Lord. Their children are kept from many evil directions this world has to offer.
Of course, children have to come to faith through a commitment of their own. But the influence of godly parents enables them to be influenced in the right direction— toward our Lord and away for worldly ways. So yes, when “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.” And… that blessing can appear in many ways… Dear Father, it is Elaine’s and my desire to see each of our children, and their spouses and children, to follow Jesus with all their heart. May it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ55mDL7dA0&list=RDuZ55mDL7dA0&start_radio=1
