I’M RICH

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.—II Corinthians 8:9

What is a life full of words compared to an eternity of communication? How does the world’s wealth compare to an eternal reward? In what way do a few days of health contrast with an eternity of perfection? Why focus only on the brevity of this life and not the endless age to come? Do the things in time that will last for eternity!

Jesus left the rich glory of heaven to come to this poverty stricken, sin infested world for us. Yet He did this so that we could escape the consequences of this world of trespasses for the rich glory of heaven. Yes, we get to know Him now, but the length of our relationship with Him on earth is going to pale when compared to a life with Him forever in heaven. It is one thing to know Him while in a foreign land, quite another to be with Him at home!

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit” (I Corinthians 2:9-10). Life is short. Let us be faithful in living for our Lord Jesus while we are here. But, the best is yet to come!

Dear Father, thank You for the home I have in heaven. I look forward to being there where Jesus is and where things will be perfect. How we long for things to be perfect and yet one day we will be in that place where everything will be as it should. May I live faithfully for You until that day.
