A THE GIFT OF SERVICE AND HOPE

I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. —Numbers 19:7

Hopes placed in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing. —Proverbs 11:7

Where is our hope placed?  Is it in mortals or in the True and Living God?  It is a gift to be a priest of God and every follower/disciple of Jesus is a priest, called to serve Him.  It is not a special class that is the priesthood and wears special garments that are called alone to serve Him.  No, every believer is called to serve Him—

“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house  to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ…. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” —I Peter 2:5, 9-10

Truly, “Hopes placed in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing.”  But to serve the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is power beyond imaginable that will last forever.  Now, where do you want to place your hope?  Whose power do you want to trust in?  As for me, my hope is in God whose power is never ending.  Yes, that is the One I will put my hope in!  Thank You, Dear Father, that I can serve You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.  May I do so faithfully, seeking to honor You and encourage others to do so as well.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugD0i5Y3cw8&list=RDugD0i5Y3cw8&start_radio=1
