I WILL TRUST HIM!
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” —Exodus 13:17
Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” —Exodus 14:12
And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant. —Exodus 14:31
Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? —Exodus 15:11
Let us trust our Lord in any and all circumstances and situations. “Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?” And the answer is… there is none like you… none!
Let us not let circumstances alone guide us. Our Lord took the Israelites the long way around as they headed toward the Promised Land. Why? Because God said He, “did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” He knew if they met with difficult circumstances, they would turn back to Egypt to slavery!
The Israelites needed to learn to trust our Lord God Almighty even when the circumstances seemed overwhelming. So was the case when they came to the shore of the Red Sea. Instead of trusting the Lord, they said to Moses, “Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Again, they were letting the circumstances determine their mindset and not trust in the Lord. They thought “It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” How patient is our Lord!
It was “when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.” Again, it was through the circumstances of saving them out of a very difficult circumstance that “the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.”
Are we depending on circumstances alone to guide our thinking? Or, regardless of the circumstances we can say “Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?” And then put our trust in Him. May this be so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG0jfwYRNiQ&list=RDzG0jfwYRNiQ&start_radio=1
