OUR LORD’S GREAT LOVE AND COMPASSION
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” —Lamentations 3:22-24

Our Lord—
- Has great love for us
- Does not consume us because of His great love for us
- Has compassions that never fails
- Has new compassions every morning
- Has great faithfulness
- Is our portion
- Is to be waited on
- Brings calamities
- Brings good things
- Gives strength to His people
- Blesses His people with peace
Yes, our Lord is Sovereign and nothing, absolutely nothing is beyond His control. He knows all things and yes, He orchestrates all things. There are so many questions that we may have because we cannot fully grasp why certain things happen. We do not understand why He allows or brings certain things upon us. This is what sets Him apart from Him— He knows all things and we do not. That is why we do not fully grasp “that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). We know this is true, but we don’t understand how this is true in certain situations. This is really where faith, believe and trust come in— Do we really have faith in Him? Do we really believe in Him? Do we really trust Him? — with all those things we do not understand… Oh, Dear Father, You alone know all. I know this and may I trust You for all that I don’t understand but know You are working everything out for my good. May I seek to be faithful to You in the midst of it all by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
