HAVE THE RIGHT FOCUS
HAVE THE RIGHT FOCUS
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. —Psalm 28:7
Whose strength would you rather depend on— your strength or our Lord’s strength? The answer should be obvious— we should depend on our Lord’s strength and not our own. What strength do we really have? Very little! And whose protection would we rather trust in— our own or His? Again, the answer should be obvious that we would rather have Him protect us. And who do I trust in— myself or Him? Let us trust in Him! Who do we look to for help— ourselves or Him? Again, the obvious answer is that we look to Him for help. If I am depending on Him then my heart “leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” Yes, I will break out in song to Him!
But I will not be singing songs of joy to Him or leap for joy if—
- I am depending on my own strength
- I am depending on myself for protection
- I am trusting only on myself
- I am only looking to myself for help
So, Dear Father, may you be my strength and protection. I look to You and trust You to help me. Without You I can do nothing. So may I faithfully look to You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, may this be so day by day and moment by moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWYSyDZYIg&list=RDEqWYSyDZYIg&start_radio=1
