THE FOOL SAYS IN HIS HEART, “THERE IS NO GOD”
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God”
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Do all these evildoers know nothing? —Psalm 53:1-4
Consider what type of person—
- These evildoers are
- Do they not know anything?
- Not even one does good
- They don’t do good
- They are corrupt
- They have turned away
- They do not see God
- They do not understand
- None do good
- Their ways are vile
- They are corrupt
What kind of a person is this? “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” From God’s perspective, the fool has no problem with doing evil. The fool thinks they know what is best. The fool does no good. They fool is corrupt. They fool turns away and have no place for God. The fool’s ways are vile. The fool’s ways are corrupt. Again, this is the person who “says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus— we seek—
- To do good
- To understand from God’s perspective
- To live honest and pure lives
- To always turn to God
- To seek God
The fool does not understand, may our Lord help us to help them understand as we come into contact with them. Not that we can change anyone, but God can work through those who love Him to change people. God through us can change people, not us alone… Be pleased, Dear Father to work through us to reach those who do not know You. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, and may all this be for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZvrnii9XhA
