THE GIFT OF CHILDREN
THE GIFT OF CHILDREN
Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” —Exodus 1:22
When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.” —Exodus 2:10
“So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” —Exodus 3:10
By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. —Psalms 17:14
Satan works through leaders of this world to destroy life. Pharaoh had ordered that “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” Even today there are countries that destroy life by forced abortion and then countries like ours that encourage abortion. “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him” (Psalms 127:3). Satan seeks to destroy God’s gifts.
How many children have been murdered that could have had a great positive impact in this world? Moses’ parents would not kill him, but hid him until they could no longer do so. Then they devised a plan and floated him in a basket and Pharaoh’s daughter rescued him. “He became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.” God positioned Moses exactly where He wanted him because of faithful parents who would not have their son’s life terminated.
Eventually, in God’s timing, God said to Moses, “So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” This child that was saved from death, now a man, was being sent by God to bring out the Israelite from the bondage of Egypt. They had been slaves for 400 years and now God was going to rescue them through Moses. Again, how many children have been slaughtered by direct or indirect laws of our world’s governments? Be sure… God knows all about it and says, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord (Romans 12:19). And be sure… He will have the final word!
“By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life” (Psalms 17:14). There are those who do what they want to do because they are only focused on the here and now. They are not thinking about God or being accountable to Him. But that does not change the fact that they will give account to Him. So, brothers and sisters, dear fellow followers of Jesus, be faithful to what God has called you to and trust Him to work out that which we cannot. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZu7mfYS_VY
