JUDGMENT TO COME!
JUDGMENT TO COME!
The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. —Revelation 8:7
Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!” —Revelation 8:13
The day of the Lord is going to bring great judgment on the earth. We already saw that twenty-five percent of the world’s population was killed by sword, famine, pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth (Revelation 6:8). Now here in Revelation 8 we see that “a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.” This is a devastating time that will impact the earth and mankind greatly. If this were to happen today that would mean two billion people would die… two billion!
And, as bad as this is, that is not the worst to come on the earth. “Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!” What is coming next is even worse…
The judgments that are going to come to the earth are going to be devastating. But there is a judgment that is coming that will be eternally devastating—
“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” —Revelation 20:12-15
Every person who does not call on Jesus to be saved (Romans 10:13) will be judged and thrown “into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). That will be eternally horrible. But this is what Christmas is all about… Jesus came to save us from eternal damnation— https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3sNyZ1RSEk
Dear Father, if there are any reading this now, may they call upon Jesus to save them now. Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Oh please, Father, impact people now for Your honor and glory. Yes, may this be so!
