I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things. —Isaiah 45:7
For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it empty, he formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the LORD, and there is no other.” —Isaiah 45:18
Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. —Isaiah 45:22
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. —Colossians 3:2-4
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. —Colossians 3:17
Our Lord—
- Forms light
- Forms darkness
- Makes well-being
- Creates calamity
- Created the heavens
- Formed the earth
- Formed it to be inhabited
- Is Lord alone, there is no other
- Will save all who turn to Him
Knowing these things, all who know Him are to set their “minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Wow! Yes, one day we will be with Him in glory. In the meantime, let us focus on those things above that are truly important. Let us see things for our Lord’s perspective as we read in His Word. “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Yes, Dear Father, may this be our focus with the remainder of our life here.
