WAIT ON AND LEARN FROM OUR LORD
WAIT ON AND LEARN FROM OUR LORD
Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. —Psalm 25:5
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? —Psalm 27:1
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD! —Psalm 27:14
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ —Acts 20:35
Oh, that I would desire to be led by Your Truth and to be taught by You. Surely “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakes me morning by morning, he wakes my ear to hear as the learned” (Isaiah 50:4). After I arise, I seek to meet with the Lord and listen to Him. He is the God of my salvation and I need to hear from Him to prepare for the day.
The world is a dark place with evil lurking to pounce on the unprepared. But Jesus is my Light (John 8:12; 9:5). Jesus is my salvation (Acts 4:12; Romans 10:13). Jesus said, “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). Jesus is also the strength of my life and I do not need to fear anything or anybody. Oh, that I would wait on my Lord and be courageous in His desires for me.
He has work for me; work that He has prepared just for me that I would be faithful in that work. Oh, that I would press on in it and help others. Yes, may I give of myself, looking to Jesus as my ultimate giver example and it is He who said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” So may I be a giver, a server and an encourager regardless as to how people treat me. May I stay the course He has marked out for me as I keep my focus on Him (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Yes, Dear Father, may this be the case by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus— all for Your Honor and Glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cMcsS2nOII
