THE INFLUENCE OF FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS
THE INFLUENCE OF FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS
I then discovered the evil… And I was very angry… Then I gave orders… I brought back… I also found out… So I confronted… And I appointed… —Nehemiah 13:7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13
“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” —Acts 4:19-20
God really stirred Nehemiah to take action. Like Peter and John and those faithful followers of Jesus, “we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” How can we hold back what our Lord God has said to us? Let us be like those faithful followers of Jesus that went before us and share the good news with people around us.
Nehemiah was a man of godly action. He saw something that was not right and he acted to right it. May we be people of action as well and be so out of our love for our Lord. You can see the love Nehemiah had for our Lord. He sought to be obedient to Him (John 14:21) and he sought to have others be obedient to Him as well.
What can our Lord God Almighty do with one person? He can do very much if that person seeks to be lovingly obedient to Him. Oh, that you and I would have such a desire to serve Him however He calls us to. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus— all for Your honor and glory and to the benefit of many people. Yes, so may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcmqSfr1ENY
