PRAISE OUR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FOR HIS MERCY AND GRACE
PRAISE OUR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FOR HIS MERCY AND GRACE
And the Levites—Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah—said: “Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” —Nehemiah 9:5
Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. —Nehemiah 9:31
“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” —Acts 4:19-20
It is right to listen to God rather than man when it comes down to being obedient to Him. The message He has given us is one we must share with others, even in the midst of opposition. Not opposition because of foolish things we have done, but opposition because of our being obedient to our Lord. We must listen to Him. We must obey Him and we will if we truly love Him (John 14:21).
So, let us “Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” Yes, let it be so and let us bear witness to what He has done, is doing and will do. In Nehemiah chapter 9 there is a recounting of God’s working with the Israelites from the time of their suffering in Egypt to the time they return to the land after exile. In His “great mercies (He) did not make an end of them or forsake them, for (He is) a gracious and merciful God.”
So, let us remember His faithfulness in the past, knowing He will also be faithful to us in the present and in the future. We can trust Him completely for that. Thank You, Dear Father, for Your mercy and grace extended to me. So many times I cannot understand why You would do that for me, but I am grateful that You do. Oh, out of gratitude may I be faithful to what You have called me to be and do by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son Jesus. Yes, may this be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJVxJrUTwGU
