JESUYS ONLY HAS THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE!
JESUS ONLY HAS THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE!
But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the Twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.” He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the Twelve, was going to betray him. —John 6:64-71
There are those who start out following Jesus, but they never came to a place of believing in Jesus. He “knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.” Yes, there were those “who did not believe” and then there was the one who, not only did not believe, but would betray Jesus. That was Judas.
Who is it that truly believes? It is those who have been granted belief in Jesus by His Father. Truly, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44). Have you believed in Jesus? If so, it is only because our Father drew you to Jesus. Have you yet to believe in Jesus? Do you sense our Father tugging at your heart to believe? If so, please do not resist. When Jesus asked the twelve, “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Peter responded, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” For those of us who have come to believe Who Jesus is, to who else is there to go to? Only Jesus has “the words of eternal life.”
But even one among the twelve did not believe. Jesus knew this. How sad that right from the beginning Jesus knew that Judas would betray Him. Yet, Judas was allowed to remain among the twelve and to travel with them, eat with them, sleep where they slept, was with Jesus when He taught, and went out with the other disciples when they served. He was even allowed to be the treasurer for the group. None of the others knew that Judas did not believe and that he would betray Jesus.
Oh, that there would be none among us who are following Jesus that have not actually come to the place of actually believing in Jesus. If there are, may they call on His Name. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sgfoGoBhC8
