CLEAN! — BE THANKFUL AND GIVE THANKS!
CLEAN! — BE THANKFUL AND GIVE HIM THANKS!
On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.” —Luke 17:11-19
How amazing that Jesus just told the 10 lepers to “Go and show yourselves to the priests” and through their obedience to what He said they were made clean. They were no lepers and could now live without that stigma. They could now live a normal life.
Amazingly, the only one that came back to Jesus, falling “on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks” was a Samaritan. The 9 others just went on their way. I am sure they were glad to be cleansed, but they did not take the time or make the effort to express gratitude toward Jesus— the One who made them clean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqfgjSPMcnc
Do we express thankfulness, gratitude toward Him who has made us clean? “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you” (John 15:3). “Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood” (Revelation 1:5). Oh, thank You Lord for making be clean and giving me Your righteousness— “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21). Even if we are the only one who gives Him thanks… may we do so for all that He has done in our lives. We are clean… https://youtu.be/SSDJgDJToeo?t=4789 Let us have grateful hearts and give thanks forever to our Lord God Almighty. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious and Awesome Son, Jesus. So may it be!
