DELIVERED, REDEEMED, FORGIVEN AND NOW LEARN FROM HIM!
DELIVERED, REDEEMED, FORGIVEN AND NOW LEARN FROM HIM!
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. —Colossians 1:13
Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. —Colossians 2:2-3
When you called on Jesus to save you, you were rescued “from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.” Or, as Paul says in Acts 26:18— “from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” Yes, that happened immediately when we called on Jesus to save us.
Now, in Christ, “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Let us keep our eyes and ears fixed on Him. Jesus said—
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” —Matthew 11:28-30
So let us be like Mary and sit at His feet regularly, constantly to learn from Him and then to apply to life what He has taught us. He has promised to do that— “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you” (Psalm 32:8). You want to be learned? “The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed” (Isaiah 50:4). Then you need to spend time with Jesus. The early disciples of Jesus were known by the religious leaders that they were uneducated men, but that they had spent time with Jesus. That is how they got their “education.” “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13). Ordinary men spending time with Jesus will be noted…
So, you who have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness, the power of Satan to the kingdom of light the power of God. Are you regularly spending time with Jesus, sitting at His feet, learning from Him? That is where we should be! And may it be so, Dear Father and be learning from our Lord Jesus. Yes, may we be doing so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYu8ZyETnKo
