INWARD CHANGE AFFECTS OUTWARD ACTIONS
INWARD CHANGE AFFECTS OUTWARD ACTIONS
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart… Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me… Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. —Psalm 51:6, 9-10, 12-13
Are you delighting in God’s truth inwardly? This is where only our Lord can see and know what is truly going on. Are you allowing Him to teach you? Truth of what He is teaching will affect you inwardly first and then will flow outward. Jesus said, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” (Luke 6:45). So, what is your heart full of? How is that affecting you and others outwardly?
Oh, praise God that He forgives all our sin. This is so amazing to us as humans that God would do this for us. He could easily wipe out this sinful, rebellious world. He did once before. But “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9). He did judge the whole world once through a flood and He will also judge it one final time, but this time it will be by fire—
Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. —II Peter 3:3-7
In the meantime we can rejoice in the fact that He is willing to forgive any who will call on His Name (Romans 10:13). Followers of Jesus lose their joy when they sin, but when we confess our sin to Him, He restores our joy. So, if there is any known sin in your life, confess it and refocus on the joy of your salvation He has given you!
Also, we need to have a willing spirit to follow after our Lord’s ways and when we fail we are to learn from those failures. Not only learn from them ourselves, but we are to teach others so they may not repeat our failures. Teaching others that are wayward through our failures will also encourage them to return to God as well. So, let us learn from our failures and let us encourage others so they will not repeat the failures we have experienced and encourage others to return to God.
Dear Father, may I truly be seeking truth and have the desire for You to teach me. Please change me on the inside where nobody but You can see and may those changes radiate outwardly to have positive impact on others for Your Honor and glory. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlSmG-_eJTU
