REDEEMED!

The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. —Psalm 34:22

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay…. But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself. —Psalm 49:7-9, 15

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. —I Peter 1:18-19

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. —I John 2:2

            God’s love for us is so amazing, so astounding, so awesome…  “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” (John 4:10).  Jesus came to redeem us from our sin and “We love because he first loved us” (I John 4:19).  We cannot truly love God until we have some understand of how much He loves us.  Love is the foundational motivation for our relationship with Him and with people— “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”  Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:36-40).

            Our walk with Jesus rests on His love for us as seen in the action He has taken for us in His 3 years of ministry, though the cross, the resurrection, the ascension, the promise to come back and His interceding for us today.  How is our love for Him seen?  How is our love for others seen?  Love is not just a feeling… love is action.  As someone once said, “Love is a verb.”  Love is an action word. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUxI-ynsTnM What actions of yours give evidence for Your loving God and loving people?

            Your value to God is so much it took the Son of God, Jesus, who loves us so much, to die a wretched death on the cross to redeem us from our sin.  This was the only way and is the only way we can redeemed/saved.  God had to pay the eternal penalty for our sin.  It took someone eternal to do that and Jesus, the eternal Son of God, did it!  So let us rejoice in His love and let us live a life of love— actions that emulate Him!
